The Superintendent Minister of the Mamprobi Circuit of The Methodist Church Ghana, The Very Rev Isaac Sarpei Akushie has been commended for his “selfless service” to the Church. The one time District (now Diocesan) Youth Organiser of the Accra Diocese retires from active ministry in September 2021.

A citation presented in his honour during the 60th Annual Synod of the Accra Diocese, held at the Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Chapel, Kaneshie on May 06, 2021, partly read, “We remember before our God and Father, your work produced by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ”.

Signed by the Methodist Bishop of the Accra Diocese, The Rt Rev Samuel Kofi Osabutey, the citation expressed the Bishop’s appreciation to the Very Rev Akushie for his support towards his [the Bishop’s] ministry. “As you retire from active ministry,…we can only wish you every blessing from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus”, the citation added.

For his part, the Very Rev Akushie thanked God for leading him and his family in ministry since 1986 and expressed appreciation to The Methodist Church Ghana for the opportunity to serve.
