THE LORD HAS NOT FAILED ME – VERY REV VICTOR BOYETEY
The
out-going Synod Secretary of the Accra Diocese, the Very Rev Victor B. B.
Boyetey has expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness through
his life and Ministry.
Narrating
various incidence and challenges he and his family have had to undergo throughout
his Ministry, the chief scribe of the ‘la crème de la crème Diocese’ noted, “The
Lord has not failed me”, adding “Thus far, He has brought us”.
The
Very Rev Boyetey was addressing congregants at a
Thanksgiving Service held at the Ebenezer Methodist Chapel, Dansoman, to mark his end of
duty as Synod Secretary of the Accra Diocese.
His
five year service which begun on October 01, 2017 with the Rt Rev Samuel Kofi
Osabutey as the then Diocesan Bishop, ends on September 30, 2022. He took over
from the Very Rev Samson N. A. M Laryea-Adjei as a full time Synod Secretary and
will be handing over to the Very Rev Doris Saah, the out-going Superintendent
Minister of the Kokomlemle Circuit who takes office from September 01, 2022.
The
Synod Secretary is primarily responsible for assisting the Diocesan Bishop in ensuring
that the decisions of the Synod are put into effect as well as collaborating
with other officers of the Diocese to carry out duties towards the smooth
running of Synod and the Diocese.
In
an exhortation titled ‘My Story’, Very Rev Boyetey disclosed that, “The
challenges and the changes we’ve gone through that has made us what we are
today is just by grace” stressing, “but we thank God that through all these
things, we have testimony and the greatest testimony I always want to share has
to do with what the Lord can do with us.
Recounting
his work over the period at the Diocesan Office, Very Rev Boyetey said “for 5
years there at the Secretariat, we were there to listen; we were there to
encourage others; we were there to correct others; we were there to listen and
direct”.
Very
Rev Boyetey was presented with a citation read by the Accra Diocesan Lay
Chairman, Sis Agatha Ennin Osei. The citation expressed the Dioceses’ profound
gratitude to Very Rev Boyetey “for serving the Diocese with dexterity and
devotion”.
The
Methodist Bishop of Accra Diocese, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey presented
a token of appreciation on behalf of the Diocese to Very Rev Boyetey “for the tremendous
work that you have performed in the Lord’s vineyard”.
Representatives
from the various Circuits and Organisations in the Dioceses also made presentations
to the Synod Secretary and his family.
