Story: Emmanuel Ashong | May 09, 2021
In a bid to broaden and
strengthen its existing institutional framework for decision-making, the Accra
Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana has inaugurated a Fellowship of Past Lay
Chairman (FEPLAC). This follows a decision by the 60th Annual Synod of
the Accra Diocese held at The Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist
Chapel, Kaneshie on May 09-10, 2021 to establish the Fellowship.
The Fellowship is made up
of all surviving Past Lay Chairmen of the Diocese as well as Past Lay
Presidents from the Diocese. Among others, members of the Fellowship are
expected to bring their rich experiences and strong institutional memory to
bear to aid the Diocese in decision-making on critical matters.
In a brief Induction
Service which took place on May 09, 2021 at The Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg
Memorial Methodist Chapel, Kaneshie during the Synod Sunday Thanksgiving
Service, the Methodist Bishop of the Accra Diocese, The Rt Rev Samuel Kofi
Osabutey, thanked the inaugural members of the Fellowship for availing
themselves for service to the Diocese and urged them to give off their best.
Speaking on behalf of the
Fellowship, the First Lay Chairman of the Accra Diocese, Sis Gladys Afarchoe Odoi
expressed members' appreciation to the Diocese for the confidence reposed in them
and pledged their readiness to give off their best.
